How Do Viewpoints and Perspectives Limit our Worldview?
Can you entertain another perspective or viewpoint? There is more than one way to see things.
Lately, I have found myself frequently expressing to people that, while I respect their opinions and beliefs and am glad they have found what works for them in their lives, I believe differently and their views do not work for me. What is “right” is what is right for them. What is also “right” is what is right for me.
- “It is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it.” – Aristotle
- I am not going to question your opinions. I am not going to meddle with your belief. I am not going to dictate to you mine. All that I say is, examine, inquire. Look into the nature of things. Search out the grounds of your opinions, the for and the against. Know why you believe, understand what you believe, and possess a reason for the faith that is in you.” — Frances Wright
- It ain’t what you don’t know that gets you into trouble. It’s what you know for sure that just ain’t so. – Mark Twain
