Key Concepts
Fractegrity
Fractegrity (fractal integrity) encompasses interconnectedness, highlighting how individual actions ripple outward, impacting the well-being of the collective. This understanding underscores the importance of individual responsibility in maintaining the integrity of the whole. When individuals act with integrity, they contribute to the strength and resilience of the interconnected web, promoting workability and resilience at all levels.
Fraccountability
Fraccountability (fractal accountability) is the mirror of Fractegrity — integrity in reflection, accountability in motion. If Fractegrity expresses integrity at all scales, Fraccountability expresses responsibility at all scales — the feedback loops that sustain integrity in motion.
Fractalignment (fractal alignment) Fractalignment (fractal alignment) is a parallel exploration of Fractegrity — how alignment in ideas and aspirations can expand through individual, community, state, nation and world.
Fractalignment
Fractalignment (fractal alignment) is the continual practice of aligning one’s inner geometry with outer purpose. Just as a fractal repeats its form across scales, alignment repeats in thought, word, and action. When we align with truth, the pattern resonates outward, harmonizing the personal and the planetary. It is coherence
Fracrucible
Fracrucible (fractal crucible) The metaphor of a crucible can apply to many scales: individual, community, state, nation and world. An individual can have health compromises or physical damage from an accident. At the national level, it can be a diminishing of governmental function. At the global level, it can be climate warming. This exploration has led to the invention of the word “fracrucible” – fractal crucible.
Fractensegrity
Fractensegrity (fractal tensegrity) bridges geometry and governance. Inspired by tensegrity structures — systems that balance tension and compression to maintain stability — Fractensegrity imagines social systems where freedom and responsibility, individuality and interdependence, hold one another in dynamic equilibrium. It is structural empathy — integrity through balance.
The Infinity Principle
The Infinity Principle is a tool for personal growth and empowerment, focusing on increasing awareness of values. It provides a framework for individuals to understand and enhance their values. The Infinity Principle uses neuroscience to empower us to live by and according to our values. At its heart, the Infinity Principle is a way to understand how balance and growth work — in the brain, in behavior, and in life.
Glossary of Key Terms in the book:
Coherence: A state of unity and connection among its members, driven by shared values, trust, and cooperation
Collective: The community, society, or larger system composed of interconnected individuals.
Compassion: A deep empathy and concern for the suffering of others, driving actions that aim to alleviate pain and promote well-being.
Declaration: A statement of intent or vision, often made collectively, to inspire and guide actions towards a shared goal.
Fractegrity: A multi-faceted concept suggesting that integrity is not simply a personal attribute but a fundamental principle that governs the interconnected web of life. It emphasizes the importance of individual actions in maintaining the integrity of the whole.
Fraccountability:
The combination of fractals and accountability. It explores the belief that society can flourish if we nouraish accountability at all scales.
Fractensegrity: A combination of fractals and tensegrity. It pursues the belief that tensegrity holds us on balance at all scales, with or without our awareness and conscious participation.
Integrity: Acting in accordance with one’s values and principles, demonstrating consistency, accountability, and honesty in thoughts, words, and actions.
Resilience: The ability to adapt and thrive in the face of challenges, maintaining core values and principles while adjusting to changing circumstances.
Stewardship: The responsibility to care for and protect the Earth and its resources for present and future generations.
Ubuntu: An African philosophy emphasizing the interconnectedness of humanity and the belief that our individual well-being is intertwined with the well-being of others
